We Interrupt this Blog for: WALLACE!!!

Hey everybody! This blog entry was suppossed to be about me and what I did on my birthday...
note the birthday scarf...
I was gonna tell you about all of the delicious birthday treats I enjoyed last week....but instead Mom is gonna tell you about an adventure she had without me...with some celebrity dog named Wallace the Pit Bull...humpf....see you next week I guess...

This Is Wallace the Pit Bull and his Dad Roo Yori...together they make up an awesome fly disc team with many trophies and titles....on Sunday they were in Naperville for the Ashley Whippet International Fly Disc World Championship and I got to be a groupie!

A few things you should know...Wallace is a Pit Bull who once was homeless, slated to be euthanised and then found, fostered and later adopted by his Dad who then figured out that Wallace has a thing about frisbees!
And Wallace LOVES his Dad - and is usually looking at him adoringly...

Wallace likes the simple things in life...a good grass rub...

Laughing, meeting and giving kisses to new people....he is a very good ambassador for his breed and very comfortable with the life of a celebrity...

Did I mention he LOVES hanging with his Dad?

On competition days Wallace hangs out in his own trailer - complete with his own fans attached ...and his own "Pit Crew"...that's actually his Grandad checking to see if he has everything he needs...

Wallace is a big help. Here is is helping his Dad organize all the discs they will use for the freestyle competition...

Wallace's favorite time is SHOWTIME! Here he is with his Dad getting the crowd revved up.

Once the game starts he is totally focused on his Dad...I have seen the videos but in person it was awesome the way they work together...it is very much like a dance they do choreographed to music...with amazing athletic feats....

Afterwards there is refreshment and lots of praise for a job well done!

Wallace feeling pretty proud of himself!!

A private talk between teammates...Roo admitted to Wallace that a few of those throws could have been better but Wallace forgave him right on the spot...he understands there is a lot of pressure out there.
Aww the life of a disc dog...nothing like it!

Wallace had a good feeling about the day while they waited for the scores to be tallied.

Finally the announcement... Wallace won Second Place!

Awesome trophy to add to Wallace's collection.
For those of you not familiar with Wallace the Pit Bull please go to his website http://www.pitbullunited.com/wallacethepitbull/and watch his videos - "You Can't Bring Me Down" is my favorite. Then go to his blog Pit Bull United:
a former Vick dog now a certified therapy dog.
Thanks Wallace for an awesome day!

Oh, and for those of you who need a Peony fix here is what she has been up to at my house - thank goodness Gilly doesn't mind babysitting...
just a few more days and she will be at the Adoption Center.
Unitl next time! Thanks for stopping by!

I SCREAM!

Hiya everybody - so the other night as a pre-birthday surprise (my 12th birthday is on Sept 1) Mom and our friend Yvette decided to take me for a little ride - well I was ready - I love rides!
Wow! I've heard of this place called Scoops but I have never been the lucky dog who got to go there before...do I see... could it be...oh my...its ISCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nom Nom Nom Nom

ISCEAM is my favorite thing in the whole world - I will take my time and savor every lick....look how beautiful it is..........

ISCREAM!!!

Ok I got a little crazy there - ok - ok - I will take a little break to stop the brain freeze - whatever that is...I will take my time...I will....

Nom Nom Nom Nom...

Must have the cone NOW - gimme the cone!!!!!!!!

Well I guess I went a little crazy over my ISCREAM cone...but it sure was a small one...hey look who has bigger one...our friend Yvette...I bet she could use some help with that...maybe I can help her...

Patience is the key and good mind melding skills...you are getting very full... you will give me your cone to finish for you....NOW...

Why of course - I would be happy to lick that spoon for you - I always help Mom with the dishes at home -
Boy did I have a good time at the ISCREAM place...thanks MOM!

Oh yeah, Mom wanted me to mention that that Peony kid is doing just fine...taking over the house...more later...
And a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my cousin Katie Mae her birthday is on Sept 1 too!! Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!

Sadie Fosters Kits

Hiya everybody! So here I am back again to let you know what's been going on here in Sadieville...well it has a lot to do with this little runt of a kitten named Peony....she is about #180 in the number of fosters we have taken care of in the last couple of years...mostly kittens and cats cuz when we tried puppies I got bad smelly tummy problems and the V-e-t said no more foster puppies for Sadie!

So we take care of kits only....so back to Peony...

To tell you the truth it all makes me pretty tired...its a lot of work to groom them, lick their bowls and herd them when necessary...I take a lot of naps when we have foster kits...

When Peony first came to us we did not know how sick she was...she had just had her tail amputated she had a prolapsed rectum, and an antibiotic resistant infection that caused us to rush her to the V-e-t hospital where we stayed most of the night while they amputated more tail and did some other stuff...Mom and I hung out in the car , took a long walk, ate Wendy's fries and hoped for the best...this is what Peony looked like when she came home the next day...
In a couple of days she was ready to have some fun so Mom built her a homemade ex pen...with a bed - which she peed on...a lot...

Lots of toys which she loved...

A cool kitty condo to climb on and in...

The ex pen also provided easy access for the permanent residents...this is Gilly (aka the Troublemaker) saying "hey"...and looking for leftovers...can you see Peony in this picture?

Permanent resident Coche is Peony's favorite...he hangs with her a lot ...cats can be very particular and I think sometimes they look for kitties who look like them...

This is Coche and Peony playing hide and seek...I think Peony is counting...can you find Coche?
Here is Peony resting next to my likeness for protection...the ex pen was a fun idea but did not last very long cuz Peony could find her way out no matter what Mom did to build the walls...and I had a heck of a time herding her and helping Mom find her when she would shoot under the furniture...

The great news is that today Peony got her stitches out, her collar came off and she got a pretty clean bill of health from the V-e-t. So she will probably only be with us a few more weeks until she is placed in a no kill shelter for adoption. Thank goodness.

Hey stop back again soon and I will try to make sure Mom is actually telling you about MY adventures! Thanks for stopping by!

The Peony Reason for the Delay

This is a foster kitty named Peony - she came into our lives last Tuesday and has since had emergency surgery on her already amputated tail and needs lots of medicines and butt baths...she is taking up a lot of our time...good thing she is so cute...more about her later.
And now back to our final Senior Doggie class at Integrative Pet Care - it was time for the exercise balls...first up was our big friend Simon (who I have learned is a Malamute not a "big husky Antarctica dog") he did real good on the big ball - I think he will do anything for his Mom.

I think he is laughing in this picture...

Next up was our good friend the Husky dog Blue - doesn't he look handsome on that ball? - he will do anything for treats - just like me!

Then it was my turn - at first I was a littel afraid but it wasn't so bad once we got going and of course there were lots of treats involved... we started out with a small pretty yellow ball...

And then we graduated to a bigger red ball...
I was a little unsure about this one at first...
This is Mom's favorite picture I am not sure why...

I am going to miss seeing all of my friends every Wednesday. We had a good time once I figured out no one there was going to trim my nails...
This is Tyson he missed a few classes cuz he was not feeling well - it was good to see him on the last day.
One more Blue dog picture.
And one more of Simon doing his favorite thing...relaxin'
And finally a class picture. Look I am even smiling!

Thanks everyone for a really fun seven weeks -
my Mom and I learned a lot and had some fun too!
Be sure to stop by again - I am sure there will be more pictures of that little thing named Peony...there always are... so stay tuned...Mom says she will try not to take so long next time. See ya!
